Episode 8: Rob Hay | Leading in the midst of uncertainty

Rob Hay - Leading in the Midst of Uncertainty

Rob Hay

We quiz visiting lecturer and former Principal Rev Dr Rob Hay on leading in the midst of uncertainty. Rob recently completed his PhD on the topic, with particular reference to ideas of complexity, and explains why it is important for leaders to acknowledge uncertainty and find new ways of leading.

Join Faculty members Rosie Button, Sarah Hay, Chris Ducker and Tim Davy as we talk with Rob and get our heads around complexity theory, discover its very practical implications for leaders, and realise we were ‘lab rats’ in Rob’s research!

Rev Dr Rob Hay is Head of Learning and Ministry Development for the Diocese of Leicester. Before taking up that role in 2017 he was Principal at Redcliffe College and continues to teach on Redcliffe’s Leadership in a Complex World MA Programme.

If you want to explore your own role as a leader further why not sign up for our Leadership in a Complex World MA programme? You can begin it at our Summer School this July, at our Autumn or Spring long weekend intensives, or even at our Oceania hub in Australia in late January 2019.

Alternatively, why not audit one of the leadership modules as a non-validated ‘Active Participant’ at our UK Summer School? ‘An Introduction to Global Leadership’ runs 16-20 July and ‘Organisational Development and Cultural Change’ runs 23-27 July.

Redcliffe College offers part-time, blended-mode MA programmes to help mission practitioners deepen your understanding and develop your practice.

Programmes include:

MA in Contemporary Missiology;

MA in Leadership in a Complex World

MA in Member Care

MA in Literacy Programme Development

MA in Field Linguistics
