Episode 11: Joel Edwards – Spirit Empowered Mission

Joel Edwards

For the first of Redcliffe’s 2019 summer school public lecture series, we were thrilled to be joined by Rev Joel Edwards speaking on ‘Spirit Empowered Mission’.

In this provoking, insightful and encouraging talk, Joel frames his discussion around a fascinating reading of Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman in John 4, and the events that followed.

Challenging our desire to stay with the known and the comfortable, he encourages us to recognise that, “God has not called us to a status quo.”
It was a special evening for us at college and we hope you are encourage and stirred by what Joel has to say.

Joel Edwards was General Director of Evangelical Alliance and subsequently International Director for Micah Challenge. More recently he has been working on his doctoral studies looking at religious freedom, through St John’s College, Durham. Earlier this year he was awarded a CBE for services to tackling poverty and injustice.
